Welcome to The Cauldron Chronicles, a written-based podcast where we evoke Cerridwen’s magickal cauldron of inspiration and transformation. Here, we blend wisdom, stories, and sacred practices to guide you on your journey of self-discovery and growth. Together, let’s stir the cauldron and see what truths rise to the surface.
For the last two or three weeks I’ve been ignoring a slow leak in the front passenger side tire of my car. In other words, I’ve chosen to stop on my way to appointments time after time the last few weeks to refill the tire rather than take it to the shop once to just get it fixed. I know, I know. I can be a procrastinator! Anyway, my son kept asking me if I’d take him to his friend’s job just to say hi and I finally told him I’d be down to do it. No sooner do we get in the car and there it is, the little orange lit up icon that tells me my tire needs air. Again.
No big deal! Right? I’ll just stop at the gas station, again, and fill it up, again. Not this time. As I attempted to fill the tire with more air, the air machine started showing me different numbers and the numbers were all less than the original amount of air the machine said was in there. How in the world is my tire losing air as I fill it? Welp, unfortunately I had to cancel my commitment to take my son to see his friend and we had to head back home. Enough was enough. It’s one thing for my procrastination to affect me, it’s another when it affects someone else, especially one of my kids. This time, as soon as I got home, I contacted the shop and made an appointment to fix the hole I assumed I had in my tire.
Two days later, my car is in the shop to be inspected and repaired. We dropped my son off at work and headed home only to pass the shop that had my car. Immediately I heard, “Stop at the shop and see if your car is done.” My ego replied, “No, don’t. Don’t be annoying. He always calls when he’s done.” My voice said to my fiance, “Watch. He’s going to call us the second we get home.” We shared a chuckle and finished our way home which is only a couple of minutes from the shop. Upon pulling into the driveway and putting the car in park, my phone rang. It was the shop just as I had predicted. My car was ready to be picked up so we headed back out. Even I don’t listen to my intuition sometimes! We are all always practicing.
Upon arriving and meeting the shop owner at the counter, he proceeded to tell me that there wasn’t a hole in my tire at all. There was some kind of build up that was pulling the tire away from the rim and allowing air to escape. In any case, it’s fixed. On another note, however, the slow-leaking tire was the least of my worries. He then told me that he’s had numerous cars just like mine in his shop over the past few weeks for exploding engines. Apparently, there was a new recall on my car that announced that the car engine was at risk for blowing up, that it could happen at any moment even driving down the highway in which case the entire car would lock up and I’d be SOL, and that my car was showing signs of exactly that. He strongly advised me to contact the dealer to get it fixed - yea, ok, because the dealership always has our backs - or to just get rid of the car and stay away from that make all together.
Instantly it all made sense. Just a few weeks ago I was telling my fiancé that although I couldn’t really pinpoint why - I’ve always felt very safe and secure with my car - I was suddenly feeling very nervous and unsafe every time I would drive it. Sure, it had some normal wear and tear as any car does after 10+ years, but nothing that hinted to me that my car might just blow up. After all was said and done, I believe my angels conspired to give me that simple tire deflation as a way to get me into the shop to get that information. Had my tire never had a leak, I never would have known the risk I was facing every time I got behind the wheel. Not only that, but they used the situation with my son to give me that extra nudge because I just wasn’t listening. Had I never had those experiences, I never would have known how dangerous of a situation I was in with my car.
What are your angels and guides currently telling you that you’ve been ignoring or putting off? What in your life have you been putting up with for too long? How have your angels gotten louder about it? Why haven’t you acted on it yet? What are you waiting for? We often procrastinate or ignore our intuition because, well quite honestly, because sometimes we can just be lazy, or many other reasons. I don’t have one good reason why I put off the issue with my tire. I actually chose a much more difficult experience of life by procrastinating and so are you. What would have been a once and done appointment turned into seven impromptu stops at the gas station to refill, and usually on my way to some kind of appointment. Not only that, but the Universe was trying to protect me and I treated the signal like it was inconvenient and a nuisance. As it goes, my angels upped the ante to a higher level and used my son to wake me up. Yours will do the same. When we don’t listen to the messages sent to us through our experiences in life, our guides aren’t just going to quiet down. They. Will. Get. Louder. Things will become increasingly uncomfortable until we respond accordingly. Had I still not listened, I could have been driving myself and my family when my engine blew. I could have held out and waited for that experience or I could have just responded to it right away and saved myself the hassle and the danger, but it doesn’t have to get so bad if we just would practice listening and responding promptly. When are you going to listen?
I challenge you today to make a list of what in your life is feeling uncomfortable. It could be as major as a relationship partner you’ve chosen, or as minor as your socks. Either way, you either are being called to make a change within or away from your relationship, or you just need a new pair of socks. When you’ve written down all you can identify, choose at least one thing to act on. What is the message being sent to you? What are you being asked to do? How can you respond to it? What change are you afraid of and how could it lead you to a better place? Then...DO IT. Your higher self has the answers to these questions. Ask your spirit, ask your angels, and expect to be answered. No sooner did I respond to my angels and take my car to the shop did I get the message they were trying to send, and no sooner did I respond to it did my guides lead me directly to our next vehicle - all within a few days. Don’t delay your progress. Respond to your guides. That’s all they want. Then watch your life unfold before your very eyes. Oh, and don’t forget to thank them. They love that!
That about wraps us up for this episode of The Cauldron Chronicles. Remember, every step into self-awareness is a step toward wholeness into your highest, most magickal self. Leave a comment and share your questions or thoughts!
