How I Used Divination to Discover My Magickal Name

a name carved into wood

I've identified as a witch for over five years; possibly going on ten! Until recently, I did not have a magickal name as many witches do. While it hasn't hindered the development of my craft, it was something I secretly wished I had. What I realized, however, is that it was the development of my craft that lead me to do it in the first place. Here's how I discovered my magickal name and how you can try learning yours.

I was reading a blog post about magickal names, trying to "come up" with something cool that also resonated with me. I just couldn't think of anything and nothing I came across online clicked. Then I read that you can try using divination as if being given a name and the lightbulb went off! I recently designed and created my own Cerridwen's Divination Board + Pendulum Set and decided to give it a go at learning what my magickal name is.

After a series of letters, the pendulum circled the triskele letting me know there were no further responses. I closed out the board and contemplated the letters I had received. After leading down a rabbit hole of interpretations, it finally hit me. The letters essentially each represented something magickally significant to me and my craft. Together, it formed the most beautiful name. I just knew it was right for me.

So now, after all these years, I finally have a magickal name, and I love it. If you don't have one yet, give divination a shot in whichever form you prefer, or check out Cerridwen's Divination Board + Pendulum Set and ask the board like I did!

ps My magickal name is Koredvyn!
