Witchcraft for Wellness: How I Use My Craft to Inspire and Guide Me

We're going to talk about mental health. There can't be talk about wellness without talking about unwellness and it's just a fact that many of us struggle with it; witches included. My craft is something very sacred to me and such has become a primary tool in my everyday life for empowering me and assisting me through navigating my own aspects of unwellness. This involves regular, ongoing shadow work, professional therapy, constant self-exploration and reflection, and so much more.

Lately I have been struggling a lot with feeling uninspired. This is new for me as I almost always used to have my own inner-source of it that rarely, if ever, ran out. Unfortunately, there were other not so great symptoms that tagged along with that which are now under the management of medication. While this is a really positive and healthy thing for me, I am simply not used to functioning under such stable conditions or without my constant flow of inspiration and creativity. So now what?

I have a daily ritual that I created which I call my Daily Awen Ritual and it incorporates a period of meditation to allow inspiring thoughts and messages to come through. Today it was a success in a great time of need. I was beginning to become rather discouraged with myself and my life, feeling as though all is just so damn dull, but my ritual came through and brought me some of what I had been needing. Some Awen. I was reminded of how inspiring nature has always been for me and realized I don't go outside as much anymore. One of my favorite hobbies is nature photography and I haven't done much of it this year. I realized that I am not having enough balance in my life of input vs output and so today and moving forward, I am going to get back to spending more time outside, walking, exploring, finding treasures like acorns and raven feathers, and receiving creative inspiration from nature, the foundation of all I do.

So while this post isn't specifically about getting outside more, that is a message many of us need to hear. Nature has so much to offer in terms of wellness, healing, and even inspiration, if we would only spend more time communing with it. Nature aside, magick is not just about casting spells or holding full moon or sabbat rituals, it's about the underlying intention of it all to empower ourselves from the inside out so that we may use our intention and power to influence a positive direction in our lives especially when we really need it most.

To all of the witches out there that use their craft for wellness, or that don't and want to, I see you. You are not alone. #witchcraftforwellness #witchesforwellness
